Together, Larry and Jalen leverage their shared experiences and passion to offer opportunities for kids of all ages and skill levels. Whether through our JLAB league, travel AAU teams, or individual training, our goal is to empower the next generation of players and leaders in the Central Valley.
OUR CO FOUNDER: Larry Abney
In 1995, Larry Abney left New York to attend Fresno State on a basketball scholarship. Under the guidance of legendary coach Jerry Tarkanian, he enjoyed a remarkable college basketball career.
After graduation, Larry traveled the world, experienced diverse cultures in Australia, France, Portugal, Ukraine, and beyond. Following his professional basketball career, which concluded in 2012, Larry chose Fresno as his home. He returned to Fresno State to earn his MBA and raise his family, including his first-born, Jalen Abney.
In 2017, Larry joined the Los Angeles Clippers organization, currently serving as a player development coach and associate head coach with the San Diego Clippers G League team.
OUR CO FOUNDER/DIRECTOR: Jalen Abney
Jalen, a graduate of Clovis West High School and Fresno City College, has over a decade of experience coaching and training young athletes in the Fresno area. He has coached and mentored players at various high schools, including San Joaquin Memorial, Hoover and Buchanan, and has coached in prestigious programs such as Nike’s EYBL (Oakland Soldiers) and Adidas 3 Stripes (Jalen Green Elite).
In 2024 Jalen was a guest coach for the Los Angeles Clippers Summer League Training camp.
